For the past several years my husband and I have been sending school books and educational resources to schools in Africa ( Zimbabwe, Ghana and Nigeria ) These things are desperately needed as rural schools there have no supplies, and teachers are struggling to teach children to read with little or no access to the printed word.

The books we send are given to us by local schools, who are delighted that their redundant books and equipment can be put to good use. We collect the books, pack them, and raise the funds to transport them – to date we have sent approximately 100 000 books, plus computers, printers, P.E. equipment, art and craft materials, musical instruments etc. The difference these things make, not only to pupils and teachers, but to whole communities, has to be seen to be believed.

Recently we received a request for a volleyball net from one of the schools we have been supplying. I would like to help them with this, but do not know where I might get one. As all our funds are used on transport costs, we can not afford to buy a new net, but hoped that we might find someone who could either donate a used one, or sell a used one cheaply.
